OEM Recommendation

All hydraulic pump manufacturers have developed detailed fluid viscosity recommendations, which are essential for maximizing pump efficiency.

  • Fluids with low viscosity lead to poor volumetric efficiency, system overheating, reduced power output, and higher rates of wear. In extreme cases, low viscosity can lead to pump seizure and fluid leaks.
  • Fluids with high viscosity can lead to high viscous drag (poor mechanical efficiency), sluggish response, air entrainment and pump cavitation. In cold start-up situations, high viscosity can cause oil starvation and pump seizure.

The use of MEHF fluids formulated with DYNAVIS® will ensure that fluid delivers optimum viscosity over the entire operating range.

  • Fluids formulated with DYNAVIS have excellent shear stability and will deliver consistent power, efficiency and pump performance.
