A field test was conducted in order to document the performance of a medium sized tracked excavator operating with two different hydraulic fluids. A fluid containing the DYNAVIS additive system was substituted for the standard monograde fluid recommended by the OEM. The test was conducted under moderate temperature/pressure/work load/time cycle conditions. Significant improvements in productivity and fuel efficiency were observed. In the field test, the machine consumed less fuel, but also increased work output by 6%. Be sure to consider what 6% higher productivity is worth to you in addition to fuel savings.
